Engine Volume

When compared with 1 kg Hp, then Honda F1 is 8 times more powerful than S2000.

In order to run fast in races, the F1 engine is made lighter and with higher power. Sticking to lightness of engine with no specified weight is to adjust with difference of ballast as it is made lighter than the specified weight of car body. As ballast area is free, so to make setting more appropriately, by matching car's weight balance (before/after) with the course with large adjusting width.

The present F1 engine is with 3 litres naturally aspirated V type 10 cylinders and Honda F1 engine [ Honda RA005E ] gives maximum output of more than 900 horse power.





Engine weight

As far as the weight is concerned, it is same as the weight of a well built sportsman which is 95kg.

Lets compare this 1 litre air volume displacement capacity engine of Honda with very superior S2000 engine. The 2 litres S2000 with 4 cylinders DOHC VTECH engine is of 200kg and gives maximum output of 250 hp. However the Honda F1 engine with 1 litre gives the output of 300hp which 2.4 times that of S2000.

900hp ÷ 90kg and S2000 is of 1.25hp 250hp ÷ 200kg. which becomes approx. 8 times of it.


Honda has built F1 with highest technology, lightness and more power.



  1. When compared with 1 kg Hp, the Honda F1 is 8 times more powerful than S2000.
  2. Though the Air Volume Displacement capacity of F1 engine is 3 litres, it has an intake capacity of 4 litres air.
  3. While NSX runs 100 km/hr in 5.2 seconds, the Honda F1 has achieved a run of 200km/hr in approx. 5.2 seconds.
  4. F1 has 4.5 times more G-forces compared to a normal car.
  5. The Power Steering of Honda F1 is not for the purpose of making steering lighter.
